Happy Moon Day, the real Mothers Day!
THE MOON IS RECEPTIVE, sensitive and has a BEAUTIFUL IMAGINATION is CREATIVE and changeable.

Mothers Day should really be today on Monday because Moon is the karaka (significator) for the Mother, water and nurturing. She is full, fullness in her beauty to reflect the sun. She represents herbs and plants, it is her soft nature we all look for in life that nurtures all things to grow.

The moon is Soma and produces the nectar of immortality. Depending on how strong your moon is it will determine how much juice (rasa) you will get from the moon or Soma in this life. A full moon in your birth chart will provide more juice (rasa) in your life. Each day the moon has a different flavour.

The Moon (Chandra) displays our likes and dislikes, our emotional (manas) mind nature, she is the Queen of the Universe. We refer to her as She but in Vedic Astrology she is a he named Chandra and he is male, the Nakshatra’s ( Chandra’s lunar mansions is where he meets the feminine aspects of the moon) his shakti’s reside here.

The moon is loved by everybody he is a benefic when he is bright and can be considered weak or malefic, not to our benefit when he is a dark moon because a dark moon means (a Kali Moon) our deep inner subconscious is reflected outward and when this happens it is not an easy process).

The moon moves quickly around the zodiac, just about every day he has moved to a new Nakshatra or lunar mansion where his 27 brides reside.
The moon is a huge study and there is much involved in this ocean. This is but a drop. I will elaborate more later. There are many teaching tales and the moon and the nakshatra’s are core to Indian Astrology. The Panchanga (5 measurements) of the moon shows the monthly positions and cycles. The Panchanga consists of weekdays varana, 27 nakshatra, 30 tithi, karana, and 27 Soli-lunar combinations yoga.

Rahu (the north node of the moon) and Ketu (the south node of the moon) are very closely connected to the moon. Eclipses involve the moon. The moon is very important in our life and it is important to understand where your moon was when you were born.

The moon is a huge subject, just as women are a huge subject because women are ruled by the moon! The ebb and flow of the tides.

Happy Mother's Day, in retrospect Mothers day should be on Monday, but then everyday should be Mothers day :)

The beginning of the week starts with Sunday.

Sunday is ruled by Surya (the sun) he is the King, the soul of the Universe, the significator for you soul (atma) the atomic energy computer chip that runs your machinery (your body). Surya is hot fiery and keeps everything eliminated. Everyday praise the sun but give a little extra praise on Sunday. Be thankful for everything you have and do not have. Be thankful that your soul is here to do the work of melting through your past karma’s (actions). Be thankful your soul took a body to help your evolve.

The Sun is in the late 29 degree’s of Aries as of Saturday, and in the early minutes of Taurus as of Sunday. The Sun is transitioning from his strongest placement in Aries to Taurus ruled by Venus he is in transition we may not feel as bright as we should feel, the things that the sun signifies in our life may feel weak or a bit out of focus. Some Karaka’s for Surya are self-confidence, authority, leadership, leader in their expertise, energetic steadiness, Father and some say the right eye other say the eyes, the heart, vitality. Ruby and Ruby red are the colour of Surya. A strong Surya gives a great destiny and intelligence.

Today is Saturns Day, Lord Shani Maharaja, it should be understood that some people in India do not even say his name Saturn, instead he is simply called,”The BIG Lord.”

The Big Lord is the great delivery Deva of (karma) our actions, the rectifier or karma. There comes a time in our life when Lord Shani keeps score and he needs to even the checks and balances. Lord Saturn can make a Beggar a king and a King a beggar, so it is not all that bad. He can bestow and he can take. It all depends on your past karma’s, (what actions you did in your old car (body). Our karma’s are a mystery and we can only know a portion at a time. It is best to always keep in mind, if you do good you will get good and if you do bad you will get bad. Always be compassionate with yourself and others. There but for the Grace of God go I.

Saturn is retrograde in a tough tangled karmic knot area of the Zodia between Sagittarius and Scorpio. Deep, Deep roots are being dug up and our nose is being shoved into the good and the bad. Either way Saturn is work.

Kali has come with her rinse and spin cycle to dig up those karma’s (actions) that we have forgotten about. As I write about this I have come to the realization now after all these years how it actually works and what it feels like. My very own Saturn sits in the Nakshatra of Mula, although we are all different, I seem to have been given experiences and a memory of of how this actually feels by watching world events anybody into their 50’s and 60’s has gained some experience of watching a few Saturns’s transits of their moon.

This Saturns transit of the moon is most feared, it is called Sadi Sate (7and half years of Saturn transiting our moon. It happens every 30 years and you are lucky if you live to see your 3rd. I have been through 2 and actually they have been times of great growth and change for me. If you are willing to let go of the old and allow the new it can be easier. If you struggle with change oh yikes hang on… let go and learn to surf, you must go with the flow.
Yes, this can be an intense time Saturn in Mula in retrograde, so if you are feeling agitated, if your blood pressure is boiling, it may be the delays and the karmic squeeze reaching into your deep roots and you just may want to explode. This is the karmic rinse and spin cycle.

Listen to or sing the Hanuman Chalisa, or do a Hanuman mantra, feed the poor, feed yourself, help yourself, help someone else.
Saturns colour is blue, blue Safire. You can also, wear an iron horseshoe ring but warning this is not for everyone. I went to the Saturn temple in Shingnapur not far from Shirdhi in Maharastra on my first trip to India. I felt like I won a prize when I found a Sadhu selling these iron horseshoe Saturn rings. After only a few hours of wearing my new found ring, I felt depressed and knew to take it off right away and I have never been able to wear it ever again. Babu Kishan wears it happily now, he can handle Saturn I can not. It is important when doing any remedy to use your intuition and if it does not feel right don’t do it, unless you absolutely 100% trust the person who gave you the remedy.

“Suryadev (son of Brahma) and Sandna (the daugther of Daksha Prajapati) were Shri Shaneshwar's parents.

Sandna and Suryadev had two sons Dakshinadhipati Yama and Shri Shaneshwar and four daughters Tapti, Bhadra, Kalindi and Savitri.
Sandna finding it unbearable to live with the harsh glare of Surya's light, created her own replica and named her as Sanvarna and asked her to behave as Surya's wife and perform all the duties and savour the privileges of a wife. She made her promise that under no condition would she reveal to Suryadev that she was not Sandna and promised to help her when needed.

Sandna went back to her father Daksha. When Daksha saw that his daughter coming back, he advised her that she better live with her husband only. The dejected Sandna did not follow her father's advise and instead transformed herself into a mare and resided in the Himalayas and started penance.

Savarna performed the role of dutiful wife. She also gave birth to five sons and two daughters from Surya. Surya did not have any doubts about Sanvarna.

One day Shanidev was very hungry and he asked his mother to give him something to eat. She asked him to wait till she had made her first offering to God. But Shanidev insisted on serving him first and in anger kicked his mother Sanvarna. She in return cursed him that his leg would break.

Shanidev reported the matter to his father Surya. Surya said," a mother would never curse a son like this." Surya observed Sanvarna closely and found that she was not Sandna. Surya was enraged and asked her who she was. Sanvarna confessed that she was a 'shadow' of Sandna. and that Sandna had gone to the Himalaya for penance.
Surya told Shanidev that Sanvarna was like his mother and her curse would not go in vain. It is therefore that Shanidev has one lame leg.”

Friday is ruled by Venus (Shukra), a Tantric peace loving, shopping, bright shinning star that is very powerful. Venus is exalted (best placement) right now in Pieces and what a beautiful flowery time of the year with all the blossoming tree’s. This spring time of the year is Venus’s time. Venus (Shukra) is one of the most (powerful forces) and awakens Kundalini Ma, Venus is irresistible attraction and Love that draws you in then takes you to life and death and back again.

Venus well let me tell you, the 'Venus Guru' they are a different type of Guru from the 'Jupiter Guru' of thursday. Thursday's Guru is more of a priestly class a positive good Guru. The Venus Guru is Kundalini Ma her very self, a Shakti (power) a Tantric Ritual Guru. Friday's Guru is Guru to the Assura’s (the shadowy side of life) the hidden, a Maha Tantric Guru who does not play by the rules and shakes you to the core. A Baul Guru is considered a Tantric Guru, we are not talking the Neo tantra of the west, or the safe Tantra webinar internet Tantra, this seems to be the story of the day.

Venus the bright a shinning star, when this Guru walks into your life your body will 'shake in fear' why because he is the 'Tantric Guru' and Tantra is not a game it is a razors edge, a bomb that goes off in your brain. With a Tantric Guru you are on a continuing path, it is not a beginners path.

Tantra is a Sanskrit word meaning many things, including technique or yantra of the body and follows the lines of India, it is not a western psychological discourse or sermon, a path filled with Western psychological interpretations.

Jyotish the art and science of Light is part of the Tantric Path, Ayurveda is part of the Tantric path learn these first then approach a Tantric Guru.

Venus brought the dead back to life, Tantra is an uncomfortable path you must die to live. You may have arrived at Tantra thinking it is going to give you comfort and it turns out to be a dangerous path as you have to die as a metaphor to everything you though you knew before you can truly awaken and not be like most people who are living unconscious like the walking dead.

There are so many making a mess of this path, hurting many along the way so one has to be extremely careful and have fully developed intuition (your soul’s GPS) and your intellectual discernment before even jumping on this boat.

In the Tantric realm you have already been there, done that and are an inborn Mystic, there is a deep remembering a deep attraction, a subconscious memory of, oh this is not going to be easy. The real Tantric guru both attracts as does Venus as a shinning diamond mesmerizes up and pulls us in. We are attracted by a sparkle but a diamond is a sharp razors edge that cuts through our worst afflictions. The Venus Guru is the Guru who can bring the walking dead back to life. A Tantric Guru is not only a lecture and give out information Guru. The Venus Guru is not the touch you on the forehead and now you are enlightened to that is Thursday’s priestly Guru.

Venus is not the 'fake Tantric Guru' who writes books of copy and paste saying they discovered something that nobody has ever known. I get a kick out of the so called Tantric’s who keep posting never before been discovered and it is only discovered because they translated it from Sanskrit to English. Teaching from the books they have translated, please people this, it is a business and nothing else.

This Venus Guru has a dual side and plays in the world but is not of the world, they love to shop and hang out at the markets, they like to make you comfortable where you so much love and bliss (shakti) just being in their presence that you are lulled into thinking everything is wonderful. A Tantric Guru is a trickster they get you in a comfortable trance and then slam the root of the unconscious shadows right out of you.

Venus loves beauty, to feel peace and harmony you do not like conflict, they would rather just give you what you want than to be bothered fighting with you. The sharp duality is a Venus Guru can be found in the burning grounds or places that are undesirable, the places where snakes, spirits, ghosts and the scary ones live. Most of these Tantric Guru’s do not have a great name because they are the real deal, they do not have a huge following. They are the ones who have a sharp hidden edge, the button pushers, the tricksters and only a very few can even walk this path.

The duality of it all Venus loves beauty, comfort, clothing and jewels and the finer things in life. Venus loves entertainment, music, art beautiful things.

Truly as above so below, in the world and not of the world.

It is Thursday and I am feeling Lazy, Jupiter rules Thursday and one of his signs is laziness after all he is retrograde. Wake up, wake up, push through this allergy spring fever :)

If you have spring fever and are feeling lazy it could be Jupiter as he rules the liver and allergies can congest the liver.

"Om Bring Brihispati Namaha” Or “Om Guravae Namaha” or “Jai Guru"

Thursday is Jupiters Day, the colour is a bright Yellow, Jupiter is Optimistic.

Jupiter is the Guru and the Guru is misunderstood today, yes the Guru is always inside of you as many will say to dismiss the Guru tradition perhaps because of confusion or it is sorely misunderstand, culturally appropriated by misbehaving, mischievous fakes, who have nothing better to do than take advantage of innocent unsuspecting, fools who want to believe at all costs or who are sincere but just do not know the landscape. This will happen more and more as the first wave of the new age Yoga teachers from the past ten years of Yoga will be bored and looking for something exotic. (My prediction). Just be careful because I have already seen someone calling themselves a Baul Master and they look really exotic and cool and they are not a Baul.

However, there is an ancient "Guru Shishya Parampara Tradition" this is not for everyone and it is so completely misunderstood because there is no reference point of what it truly means to be in that relationship. There is no cultural reference point in the west. Many have been and will be taken in by charlatans and fakes who have done many wrong things. Use your Wednesday (Mercury) discernment (Buddha Yoga) to not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

The Guru is a heavy and pushes through your shadow to your greatness. The Guru is not a made up lineages, Indian cool dress, dread locks, fancy turbans or exotic. So much watering down and reductionism is happening today, I mean really listen to what they say if it so simplistic be careful, first of all have your 3 intuitional brains activated if you do not know what I am talking about, as my Kung Fu Master would say, more practice, more practice and do your research.

It is easy to say there are not any Guru's today but I will tell you there are not many prepared students these day either. The Guru will test you and most just run, Guru is not fun and games.

Guru is a Sanskrit word It is a sacred connection that most don’t even talk about because it is deep and this sacred bond has loved you so much that they have put you through the rinse and spin cycle so that you transform those deep rooted invisible karma’s that are hidden away.

So yes perhaps just say the Guru is inside because so many westerns end up with fake Guru's who either fool them into submission or take advantage and it takes years to realize how much time one has wasted. After 35 years of watching the Guru circuit coming to town the new 'Guru fashion show' coming to town and their eventual demise.

I would say it is perhaps better to just get in touch with your own inner Guru and know the questions to ask the Guru. You have to know the questions before you can get the answer. With all this Yoga craze it has become fashionable to want a Guru, desperation to say, "I have a Guru" oh dear just relax and go inside.

JUPITER - Joy, growth, optimism, expansion, luck, wisdom, fortune, abundance, children, bless us and help us all move forward.

I AM LUCKY.. repeat after me I AM LUCKY Jupiter is Positive.

Jupiter is retrograde in Virgo as with any retrograde planet I was taught it is stronger for good or ill, there is a certain amount of review and pressure when we have unfinished karma’s in that area and place where Jupiter is transmitting Virgo in your chart, yes there are many other factors but I am lazy and want to keep it simple.

Jupiter is the 2nd slowest moving planet taking 9 years to move around the zodiac. Saturn is the slowest moving which takes 30 years to move around the zodiacs 12 houses (bhava's).

Where were you nine years ago, Jupiter had finished his one year cycle of Virgo but went Retrograde just to see if we understood his principle in the practical areas of our life?

We are being pushed to refine and understand, with 2 retrograde slow moving planets (Grahas) Jupiter and Saturn, gravity is squeezing us to grow, expand and understand our deep rooted lessons.

Life is multi-tasking: What the world needs now is Love sweet Love, yes that is true but the world is in desperate need discernment of being able to see what is real and what is unreal, this takes a level of mental grinding and distilling both intellect and intuition.

We reach mastery when we enter the area of our lives that we are weak in. Instead of saying I am not good at that, I don’t like or I don’t want, go to that place of resistance and refine that area breaking all your barriers.

Green is the colour of Mercury today with all the new green growth it is a good day to be in nature and breath in the energy of the fresh new green leaves and run it through your body, a qigong (energy) technique of rejuvenation. Mercury rules the nerves and nervous system be gentle and keep calm.
Today is a full moon in Libra in the Nakshatra (birth star) of Vishakha.

During a full moon we will feel deeply more than usual, your likes and dislikes will be in your face. Vishikha likes to win and is the symbol of a triumphant arch way. The diety is Indra-Agni, Indra the king of Gods a warrior with a thunder bolt and Agni is fire the powers of heat and lightening. It may be an interesting intense mix of heated emotions.

The moon here makes for a bright person.
Be inner when there is a full moon always hear the call to go inside.
Mercury and Moon had a complicated relationship, the moon is the father of mercury but he seduced Jupiters wife Tara. The moon likes his son but the son does not really like his father, this is father and son family drama and a complicated family history. Mercury is dual in his nature, he is a communicator and good at business. Today we have the full Moon on Mercury’s Day. In Vishikha ruled by an energetic Indra - Agni, win and fire.

Find a green tree and spend some time today. When the moon comes out bask in the moonlight it is good for Rasayana (juice and rejuvenation of your body).

Today is Tuesday Jai Hanumanji. Tuesday is ruled by Mars the great warrior, commander and chief. Today is a good day to be active, increase your energy and perhaps learn or practice martial arts. Mars is red and passionate. He can be angry, he needs to be balanced, it takes a lifetime to manage strong passionate raw energy distilling it into a wisdom based go with the flow.

Learning the art "push and pull" will help create a balance between passion over reactions. Passion is great it is passion without discernment that creates over-reaction and that is why Tuesday leads into Buddhi discernment Wednesday's (more on that tomorrow). Take a breath or few do pranayama as Hanuman is the son of the wind God, it is a good day to learn to play with (prana) energy and balance yin (female) Shakti & yang (male) Shiva, balancing our energy creating a flow.

If the cruelness of Martian energy is too much turning your mind towards the cooling effect of devotion can cool any overheated heart. We are devoting ourselves to something in every moment we just have to know where that energy is flowing? Hanumanji is a symbol of Devotion to Ram and Sita, he has great energy and power, he is martian energy balance this energy of Mars by devoting to the soft heart of devotion.

It is Election Day here in British Columbia, who will win the Female leader or the Male leader, it is sure to be a passionate election. This passionate election has lead into a Wednesday of the dual Mercury. We are not here or not there, (not this and not that).
(Update, Christy Clark (female) the Premier has 43 votes, The male John Horgan has 41 seats, and 3 go to Andrew Weaver of the Green Party. Minority government with no absolute decided definite winner, absentee ballots still need counting. Hasn't happened since the 1950's.

Mars is in Taurus right now ruled by Venus (an added passion combination), with a 4th aspect onto Rahu (can be confusion), and an 8th aspect on, oh oh, the retrograde Shani Maharaj (the great rectifier of past karma's) who is in a karmic knot (gandanta) point sitting in the (Kali, Niritti) Nakshatra Mula digging deeper and deeper into our knots of karma rooting out that which is deep in the inner unconscious, the places and spaces long forgotten. Lord Shani goes to those places to show us just in case we have forgotten because for some reason he never forgets.

Time (kala) may rule us here on earth but Love wins. (a Babu Kishan saying).

This knot can only soften when we learn to balance between the 'push and pull', if we pull too hard we tighten the knot and fall backward, if we push forward with force we fall flat on our face tightening our karmic knot with anxiety. The more we relax the more our fibres of karma relax loosening the knot so we can slip through our karma with a little more grace and ease, with flexibility we rise.

Starting today I will post a little something about the Astrology of the day (short and sweet), along with my Photos of the day. No promises but I will try. :)

The Big Lord Shani Maharaj is retrograde rolling back making us review the Karma's we thought we had already dealt with. Been there done that, signed and sealed, now the review, delays or even perhaps the pressure of moving through to completion. It can be good or bad as with everything, take the high road, we do the best we can.

He is entering the karmic knot (gandanta) point between Sagittarius and Scorpio hmm a little intense anybody? Jupiter is Retrograde in Virgo making us look for the good in everything in case we forgot. Time to do a Liver cleanse perhaps.

Moon is in Libra today in the Nakshatra of Chitra the bright one, the celestial architect. Build or design something new today using creative thinking. Venus the Lord of Libra is in a great place for creativity. If it sunny go and play outside, lay and the earth and feel the spring energies run through your body, let Bhumi (the Earth Mother) take and purify what does not serve you. Jai Ma!!

Jyotish was revealed to the Rishi's in order to set the prisoners free not to hold them hostage to their karma's or enslave the individual to what is seen as malific in a chart.

It was never meant to be fatalistic. Yes we have fate and free will and there is a remedy for every problem, Grace of God or Goddess is the biggest remedy.

There is always hope we always need to try and fight our way.

A Jyotishi is a guide a seer and points the way, a Jyotishi never traps anybody by giving a fatalistic negative reading making people feel hopeless and in despair.

The earth is the place of suffering a Jyotishi's gift is to find a solution to bring light to the situation.

Thus Jyotish is the science and art of Light.

Jyotish is a Tantra a technique.

Jyotish is a sadhana it keeps the mind awake and aware and with the help of Lord Ganesha it helps us categorize life into a workable deeper understanding.

Thus Ganesh is the Lord of Jyotish, Saraswati helps us understand and gives Wisdom. Dakshinamurti helps us put it all together. Then one would have an istata devata (favorite God or Goddess). Then worship of the 9 planets.
