"With the above logic, why study any Shastra?

Just give everybody a mantra and call it a day.

Jyotish Shastra is extensive and is Shastra, including all Upaya’s from the beginning of time to today. It is a huge Sadhana, one has to do practice (sadhana) everyday and one must have a Ishta Devata.

Jyotish aka Vedic Astrology is a SADHANA, including Tantra Mantra Yantra Sadhana. A sister science to Yoga and Ayurveda. Jyotish means light and its systems are coded in all shastra.

If one does not study Jyotish a 'Vedanga' limb of the Vedas, the eyes of the VEDAS, how can one see the most important words in shastra, all Puja timing is from Jyotish. The same people post it is Shiva Ratri today or Durga Puja tomorrow or when it Kali Puja, duh, how did they know, they know because a Jyotishi calculated it? One of the fist questions one should ask a Guru is what is Kala (time) but first you have to have enough knowledge to even ask that question.

Who is Kala Bhairavia why would you even want to know if you had not even studied kala or TIME that is Jyotish!

Academia has already proved, it does not understand timing of Mahabarat and Ramayan, at least the well educated Jyotish Scientists use Astronomy (Gola) which is part of Jyotish.

Vedic Astrology is called Jyotish a Vedanga or limb of the Vedas, the eyes of the Vedas. Vedas's, Ititihasta (history) and Tantra are all linked together, never let anyone discourage you from studying the whole picture.

We are 3 days inside the next Eclipse, a solar Eclipse, it is said, that the energy (power) of an eclipse is 3 days before and 3 days after for the for the multiplication of the power of eclipse and of course during the eclipse it is said that during the eclipse it is 1000 x more powerful.

So if you have a goal or sadhana start now, keep a watch of mind and focus your mind because you will get what you focus. Stay away from petty tyrants and if you can't control your mind when you are with them.

An eclipse is when the lunar and solar channels running up and down the spine become disconnected depending on how naturally the energy flows in your body, this is the time the Yogi's & Tantrics use to let the energy flow up the middle Kunalini channel, it is a time of sadhana. Regular people will usually will be disturbed by the intensity of extra energy trying to flow up the central channel.

Here we go, Maa only knows, however, pay attention Shani Maharaj (Saturn) will be retrograde (backwards gravitational pull) from May 23, 2021 in Capricorn in Shravana Nakshatra, October 11, 2021 and a Lunar Eclipse on May 26 2021.

Saturn is Sva in his own sign, a good placement in Capricorn ruled by Saturn. However, this is review time of past Karma's did we understand, there may be a karmic pressure from the past, did we understand the lesson (the karmic past actions) the pressure will be Saturns way of making you look, you can not go around, you must go through.

A Saturn retrograde makes Saturn stronger, it can be a good thing or not so great, it is Saturns way of grading you and either blessing you or making you look again, this is not punishment it is meant to make you awake and conscious, we all have to face Saturn.

Saturn retrograde happens days before a Lunar Eclipse which means double down on your sadhana (practice) because it will give a thousand time fruit and the same goes for any negative thinking. It goes both ways, it is a time to focus on what you want because you will have a 1000x results. If you want peace focus on peace. The retrograde of Saturn just days before the eclipse may help or hinder your focus. Just make sure you are pointed in the right direction mentally over the next week.

Eclipses are powerful and it is said that eclipse energy is 3 days before and 3 days after the eclipse. During the eclipse the Solar and Lunar channels that run down your spine are suspended and the energy flows up the middle channel, if your energy is not purified this can create mental disturbances from repressed and suppressed issues.

Hanuman Chalisa or Hanuman Mantra, Durga for Rahu always for any eclipse and Ganesha for ketu. Both Rahu and Ketu have their hand in creating an eclipse blocking the sun or the moon.

In this case it is a Lunar eclipse, full Moon, Super Moon closest to the earth, during full moons there is a tendency towards Lunacy as Moon = mind and if Minds are out of control they can go and do anything for good or ill. Venus (desires) and Sun will be with Rahu in Taurus ruled by Venus and Ketu will be with the Moon in Scorpio ruled by Mars. Interesting times indeed. The Karmic pot will be stirred.

If the mind is in good shape the mind (moon) can bless a person, with nourishment and sustaining energy for growth.

When is Shiva Ratri this year?

The only way we can know is through Jyotish aka Indian Astrological calculations. Yes, everyday (night) is Shiva Ratri but for the Tantric one must know exact times to do Puja. March 11, 2021

Why is Shiva Ratri NOT April 11 2021 because it only happens when: Chaturdashi Tithi during Krishna Paksha in month of Magha in the Sidereal Zodiac and not the Tropical Zodiac. So if you are a tantric and using Western Astrology you are using the wrong calendar, tropical is not star based.

Oppps there are Tantrics who do not know or study Jyotish. Oh well they will only know through by what they are told not by self responsibility.
Interesting one has to know when to sit around the dumi and do Practice, it is all very scientific, based on planetary lunar positions. Self realization is based on Self responsibility.

Maha Shivaratri 2021

Shivaratri is great festival of convergence of Shiva and Shakti. Chaturdashi Tithi during Krishna Paksha in month of Magha is known as Maha Shivaratri according to South Indian calendar. However according to North Indian calendar Masik Shivaratri in month of Phalguna is known as Maha Shivaratri. In both calendars it is naming convention of lunar month which differs. However both, North Indians and South Indians, celebrate Maha Shivaratri on same day.

Vrat Vidhi

One day before Shivaratri Vratam, most likely on Trayodashi, devotees should eat only one time. On Shivaratri day, after finishing morning rituals devotees should take Sankalp (संकल्प) to observe full day fast on Shivaratri and to take food next day. During Sankalp devotees pledge for self-determination throughout the fasting period and seek blessing of Lord Shiva to finish the fast without any interference. Hindu fasts are strict and people pledge for self-determination and seek God blessing before starting them to finish them successfully.

On Shivaratri day devotees should take second bath in the evening before doing Shiva Puja or visiting temple. Shiva Puja should be done during night and devotees should break the fast next day after taking bath. Devotees should break the fast between sunrise and before the end of Chaturdashi Tithi to get maximum benefit of the Vrat. According to one contradictory opinion devotees should break the fast only when Chaturdashi Tithi gets over. But it is believed that both Shiva Puja and Parana (पारण) i.e. breaking the fast should be done within Chaturdashi Tithi.

Shivaratri puja can be performed one time or four times during the night. The whole night duration can be divided into four to get four Prahar (प्रहर) to perform Shiva Puja four times. Drikpanchang.com lists all four Prahar durations for staunch Shiva devotees who perform Shiva Pujan four times in the night. We also list Nishita time when Lord Shiva appeared on the Earth in the form of Linga and the time window to break the fast on next day.
