If there is misunderstanding or the external manifestations of Mother Kali is not comprehended, then one is advised not to embark on hesitant prayer. Prayers should emanate from the heart and the key to praying is faith and surrender. The compromise then would be Mother Durga in her soothing appearance. In any event prayers to Mother Kali and Durga reach Mother Parvathi finally. Stretching that means all prayers to mother goddesses reach Goddess Parashakti, the Supreme Goddess. It is just that the paths and the stations of bhaktas are different. The destination is the same.
Mother Durga Devi is synonymous with Shakti. She is the Divine Power that manifests, sustains and transforms the universe as the one unifying Force of Existence. Thus Durga is the very possibility of the Supreme Mother appearing in several forms to cause Shiva’s universe. He creates this world through Srishti-Shakti which is His creative power, preserves through Sthiti-Shakti which is His preservative power. His destructive power is Samhara-Shakti. So Shakti and Shakta are One really. There is no separation between the spiritual power of Shiva and Durga, the Mother in possession of the power. Shiva and Durga are like fire and heat, Sun and light or sugar and sweetness. Jai Maa Durga
